May 21, online. Bröd & rosor (Bread & Roses) invites you to an evening of readings in solidarity with Palestine and the Palestinian people.
Bröd & rosor is a literary society for women and transgender people whose lives and literary work are conditioned by migration and racism in Sweden.
In light of the latest violent acts against Palestinians, just one of many examples of the long-going ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people and their culture, we want to show solidarity by showcasing Palestinian writers and freedom fighters.
On Friday 21 May at 18:00 there will be readings of new and old texts by Palestinian writers and poets, by members of Bread & Roses and Palestinian writers in Palestine and the diaspora.

Adriana Aires Rastén, Anusha Andersson, Athena Farrokhzad, Balsam Karam, Basima Takrouri, Burcu Sahin, Dimen Abdulla, Donia Saleh, Felicia Mulinari, Ghassan Kanafani, Isi de Paula, Jihye Brissman, Kholod Saghir, Lena Khalaf, Mahmoud Darwish, Merima Dizdarević, Mourid Barghouti, Nadine Jazzar, Nioosha Shams, Noor Hindi, Ranjani Srinivasan, Sahar Mousa, Sanna Ghotbi, Somaya El Sousi, Susan Abulhawa, Wessman Almadani, Yahya Hassan, Zara Pegah and more poets TBA.
The purpose of the event is also to raise money for Gaza Community Mental Health Programme that, among other, help children suffering from the violent attacks and Palestinian Medical Relief Society that gives emergency medical treatment.
The money will be collected through the organization Palestinagrupperna i Sverige (the Palestinian Groups in Sweden), who you can now start donating to:
