Fotoutställning om kvinnor och vatten på Galleri Wetterling

We are delighted to invite you to the opening of the photo exhibition, “Life in Every Drop: Women’s Stories of Water and Dignity,” presented by WaterAid. This unique exhibition highlights how access to clean water can transform lives, focusing on Gifty, a hairdresser in Bolgatanga, Ghana. 

Through powerful images captured by photographer Sianeh A. Kpukuyou and Gifty’s own words, we gain insight into the profound significance of women’s hair in various cultures, particularly in Ghana. We follow her journey from the challenges of fetching water to the positive changes that clean water has brought to her life and business. 

In another part of our exhibition, we turn our focus to the coastal regions of Bangladesh, where women are facing a silent but severe consequence of the water crisis: health problems and hair loss. In areas like Satkhira, where over half of the water sources are tainted with salt and pollutants, clean water has become a precious resource. 

Join us for an evening dedicated to celebrating women’s dignity, empowerment, and entrepreneurship. 

Program: 

5:30 PM: Welcome reception with refreshments 

6:30 PM: Introduction to the exhibition by WaterAid Sweden’s CEO Anna Nilsdotter and Gender Expert Martina Nee. 

6:45 – 7:00 PM: Ewurabena Yanyi-Akofur, Country Director at WaterAid Ghana, gives us insight in women’s situation regarding water in Ghana. 

8:30 PM: Closing reception 

There will be snacks and non-alcoholic beverages served.
