Selma Selman på Röda Sten Konsthall

Varmt välkommen till öppningen av utställningen Crossing the Blue Bridge av Selma Selman på Röda Sten Konsthall.

Invigningen inleds kl.12 med Selma Selmans performance Superpositional Letter to Omer. 

Därefter följer en introduktion till utställningen av verksamhetschef Mia Christersdotter Norman, curator Amila Puzić och representanter för Röda Sten Konsthalls partnerinstitutioner Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt och Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024. 

Kl. 14 inbjuds du till ett konstnärssamtal mellan Selma Selman och utställningens curator Amila Puzić.

Utställningen är öppen kl.11–17 under öppningsdagen. 

Om utställningen:
Crossing the Blue Bridge är både namnet på utställningen och Selma Selmans nya film, som bygger på hennes mammas krigsminnen från hemstaden Bihać i Bosnien och Hercegovina under 1994. Utställningen förenar de olika sociala och politiska sammanhang som Selman rör sig i, eftersom hon lever mellan olika platser, kulturer och verkligheter. Främst handlar den om hennes romska rötter, men hon tar även ställning som feminist, både i sin konst och som aktivist. Kärnan i Selmans konstnärskap är en kritik av rådande normer och fördomar.

Welcome to the opening of the exhibition Crossing the Blue Bridge by Selma Selman at Röda Sten Konsthall. 

Saturday 10 February
11–5 p.m.
Röda Sten Konsthall 

The opening starts at 12 p.m. with Selma Selman’s performance Superpositional Letter to Omer. 

This will be followed by an introduction to the exhibition by Director Mia Christersdotter Norman, curator Amila Puzić and representatives of Röda Sten Konsthall’s partner institutions Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt and Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024. 

At 2 p.m.you are invited to an artist talk between Selma Selman and Amila Puzić, the curator of the exhibition. 

Refreshments and snacks will be served.

The exhibition is open 11 a.m.–5 p.m at the opening day. 

About the exhibition: 
The exhibition Crossing the Blue Bridge is conceived around Selman’s new film of the same name, and is based on her mother’s memories of war in her native Bihać during 1994. It binds together the different socio-political and cultural contexts which Selma Selman sovereignly inhabits, living as she does between different places and realities – primarily, her Roma origins and community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond, and her feminist position in art and activism, which often switch places to trouble prevailing norms, codes and prejudices.
